The first opening of a Homo Sapien eye happened in a flash, and yet when it did not all was right with the world as we would imagine it to look. Humanity had evolved out of primitivity 250 𝓶𝓲𝓵𝓵𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝔂𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓼 after it had in our timeline, leaving the Earth to be forever changed in its shape. Yet now the technology of new has begun to shift the controlled chaos that once reigned in geopolitics, creating a world that is struggling to adapt.
Imperialist nations centered in the Craton of the South have engaged in a "Great Game", daring each other into colonial ventures to counter the others ambitions. Tradition duels with modernity in a fight to control the many resources of the now globalized world, while gunpowder and steam make areas once unreachable a simple journey away.

As a server our goal is to provide a non-toxic place to worldbuild various scenarios through community interaction.
A big part of the server is its focus on acting as mutual project where people work together on ideas while still retaining ownership of their own projects. Concepts like GMs are limited here since self regulation and staff overview is our main regulatory method.
The server boasts an alt-history earth map fully made by the community, 300 hours of dedicated cartography over the span of 2 months!

Project Aurora isn't our first build. The team behind it has run successful SCP roleplay before we've learned what works, what breaks, and what players actually stay for. Aurora is that experience poured into something new.
Four gates no one remembers building open onto Terra, an alien world raised on the ruins of something older than us. Site-24 is humanity's foothold in the ice: ten thousand souls, a fuel nobody understands, and something beneath the frozen lake that has started leaving marks on the walls.
You're not a hero here. You're personnel a name on a roster, a chip in your neck, a record on Earth marked dormant. Do badly and you'll be Lost on Assignment, and the colony will reassign your quarters by morning.
What Aurora is built on:

> 🪐 A whole alien world, most of it barely mapped

As for what it is aesthetically, it's inspired by post-apocalyptic settings, surrealist media, the Backrooms, classic mythology, schizophrenic HOI4 mod bullshit, SCP, analog horror, the lovecraft mythos, and classic creepypasta.
In this community, we have:
