It's been 300 years since the Cataclysm-- the event that marked the end of the Old World, and beginning of the New World.

The lands are swarmed by eternal blizzards, shrieking winds and the harrowing cold.

In a land where everything that moves is out to kill you, life is a vicious fight for meagre survival.

Persistent technology research industries have carried humanity on their shoulders, pioneering the survival for such a harsh environment. No ordinary animal can withstand a day in the Great White without sufficient protection, thus leading to the near extinction of almost every natural living thing throughout the New World, whose presences were silently and gradually replaced by a growing population of mechanical wildlife.

ORCU is the single most prominent industrial figure across the New World, an ancient and undying technology megacorporation commonly recognised as the most powerful entity within the New World. Often compared with the incarnation of the devil, ORCU is associated with the endless war between major factions and is loosely blamed for the influx of rogue mechanical wildlife, though responsibility is never claimed nor proven.

Nox Frigus, or more commonly, Nox, embodies the second half of the daily blizzard cycle. Blizzards during this phase become extremely violent, thrashing the landscape with powerful lightning bolts and deadly hail across the lands. It creates travel halts, power failures and death, and its significance has lead some to worship it through ritual.

Humanity remains, clinging to what sustenance they have. Civilisation remains, scattered through the lands in distant societies usually consisting of huddled buildings forged from scrap. Heat and power is scarce, though not lost.

Despite the harsh conditions of the New World, humanity finds a way to persist. Driven by what goals they may have, people continue their lives gripping the crutch of technology.
