The setting of Worm is vast and unforgiving, set in a world where superpowers occur in roughly 1 out of every 8000 people. Those people with powers are known as 'Parahumans' or 'Capes', and either use their powers for personal gain, or to fight those who would try.

In Legacies: New York play in an OC setting of Worm set in the city of New York. Events parallel yet completely separate to the webnovel will occur as you embark on your very own story. Create your parahuman and live in their life and experience their trials. Will they be a hero and join with the hero's bureau? A team of hero's dedicated to organizing against the rampant crime? Will they strike out on their own and make a name for themselves as a solo hero? Or will they be a villain and use their incredible power for their own wealth and personal gain? Perhaps they won't care at all for what can be gained, only for who can be hurt?

Vyrme is a freeform roleplay set on the east coast of the fictional continent of the same name, located in the northern Atlantic. While its timeline roughly follows that of the real world up to the 1970s, it then diverges with the emergence of unusual phenomena occurring on the landmass - chiefly, the birth of people, labelled parahumans, with never-before-seen superpowers.

In the modern day, parahumans are front and centre in Vyrme's culture and day-to-day life - in New Denton, Vixen Bay, and Canton, three major cities on Vyrme's east coast, 'cape' activity is a daily occurrence. Heroes fight to uphold the rule of law, backed by the Protectorate, a massive institution designed to assist in the policing of people with extraordinary abilities, while villains seek power and profit in the open and in the shadows. Corporate cape groups have sprung up to sponsor up-and-coming heroes, while vigilantes, working in the dark and beholden to no person or organisation, stalk the night.

All the while, larger forces turn their gaze on the world, including on the three cities themselves. A shadowy organisation sells powers to any willing to serve their purposes. Monstrosities only vaguely human strike during the cities' most vulnerable moments, their nature and origin unknown. Agents of an unidentified cause work against the human government.

Vyrme is a relatively laid-back, low-stakes server. We're all here to have fun, and we've designed a deep sandbox to give players the room to do exactly that. As part of that process, we've lifted several elements from the web serial Worm, by Wildbow, but the server isn't set in that universe, and that story is not required reading for participation.
