New Litharia... the city of dreams. At least, that's how it's supposed to be; that's what the world has been told. In reality, crime is rampant, and the mafia controls the very government of the city itself, the hundreds of counties all controled by one or more mafia clans. For indeed, the secret ingredient that has allowed a city state so massive to thrive is sadly crime.

Those who enter the city seeking their dreams are forced to become mafia upstarts, either joining an existing clan or striking out on their own to follow their own ambitions, live as second class citizens, or leave. One must be tough to survive here, lest they wind up dead in a ditch.

Hiya! I hope you enjoyed the lore blurb! There are currently five clans as of writing this, and each one has their own themes, ideals, and associated industry. For instance, the Hawthorne clan deals in illegal weaponry and acts as the law enforcement and protection for the city with meaningless laws! For the others? You'll have to join and see!

We are very homebrew friendly and are currently seeking players, sheet checkers, and dungeon masters. We even allow homebrew classes! Most homebrew that passes will do so with expectation that it will be changed if it proves problematic lest a suspect test (community ban vote) be held, so unless you're 100% confident that the content in question is entirely unproblematic in every way, if the content is allowed elsewhere, it is recommended you copy your file.

We use the 2014 5e rules exclusively, but some classes have been altered, as shown in out homebrew document.

As a note, most of the server is American or European, so if you join before Noon CST (Chicago), there is a high likelihood the server's members are asleep or at work.

Our Den is a friendly server where people can play Dungeons & Dragons. You can DM, play, act, watch, or even just be a friend, it’s up to you. While we're mostly oriented around D&D, that's not all we do. 2: Game Style
We are a West March style Dungeons & Dragons server focusing heavily on role-playing and collaborative storytelling. The West March style allows you to carry your character between different DM adventures, allowing them to enjoy a shared universe alongside others while allowing for flexible running and playing schedules. We also use a Wave System that allows the community to level their characters together, while also allowing those behind to catch up quickly. In short, you can take DnD at your own pace without fear of being left behind.

We're currently working on overhauling our server lore and content, so we're in desperate need of new voices that wish to join and run for incoming players!

Welcome to Marphia! We're a westmarch-style play-by-post Dungeons and Dragons server in an early steampunk setting, looking for dungeon masters and players alike. We allow a good amount of official and partnered content for both versions of 5th edition, and are open to homebrew, though it needs to be approved by staff. As is typical with a westmarch server, character motives are currently more player driven than story driven, but dungeon masters that come in are welcome to tell their own stories that affect the world, though big changes will need discussion with staff. Availability usually isn't a worry, just post when you can! We are an 18+ server, which means we do not accept players or dms under the age of 18, please keep this in mind before you join.

As for our setting, we use a plane wheel model and multiverse theory. This world is the main setting, though there are still many, many others out there, known as other Spheres. While these spheres are generally not places you can go, they can be used for character backgrounds and by dungeon masters.

Marphia itself is largely split into two parts. The old world, and the new world. Both are continents, and the new world is where the majority of the server takes place. There are three large cities in the land: Hecate, which is a port town with the head of the adventuring guild. Borreal, which is an icy and chilly city where the thieves guild is located, a more hidden branch of the adventuring guild which does the less favorable work that needs to be done. And lastly, there's Epinomia, a largely flora loving city where the artisan's guild is located, inventing and creating magic items for all to use.

Far southwest of Faerûn, beyond the shores of Maztica, lies a savage and forgotten region known as the Voxen Isles. Once protected by the legendary Twin Xars, this land fell into ruin after the bloody Great Hunt, the betrayal of an ancient army, and centuries of silence. Now the Requiem has rediscovered its shores, and the Voxen Expeditionary League has planted the first seeds of civilization in the walled coastal town of Blackwatch. This is a dangerous frontier where towering black mountains loom over the sea, scorching obrun wastes threaten from the east, spirit-haunted deserts claim the unwary, and older, deadlier things still stir in the wilds. An industial boom is in full swing, more and more factories are opened everyday creating new jobs for the common folk of Heldenburgh. Of course this revolution would not be possible without the war across the ocean creating the need not only for the mass production of aid to the war torn nations. The United Federation of Geotrea (The country Heldenburgh resides in) is not apart of this war and is only getting a profit by aiding one of the alliances. Many do fear though that they might join the war soon as some cargo ships have been being bombed. Joining the war would mean a mass draft for the army and mass militarization of the nation

With the increase of factories and mass-production of aid more raw materials are needed. This need has caused much anger as many seem to dislike the mass deforestation and exploitation of nature. For instance many of the druid circles have been fighting back against the expansion of the country. They do this either by protest, going to the government directly and then there are those who decide to take a more... direct and violent approach. Sabotage, slaughtering employees of the companies and such. The government is trying to deal with these druids with diplomacy but the red tape is causing the druids to only get angrier as they wait.

But who knows. The government does not have any plans to join the war anytime soon and should be able to come to an agreement with the factions in the city. Hopefully
