Shadowdale rests where the River Ashaba meets the North Ride, a small farming village bordered by golden fields and the shadowed edges of Cormanthor. Long known for its fierce independence, it is marked by Old Skull hill and the ancient Twisted Tower of Ashaba - symbols of a history shaped by heroes, invasions, and quiet resilience. Farmers, tradesfolk, and orcish river families give the dale its warmth, even as sealed tunnels and forgotten pacts linger beneath the soil.
On Liar’s Night, something shifted. Only a few adventurers remember Lady Mareldraea Hawkguard and a version of the town that no longer exists. To everyone else, Lady Khara Sulwood has always ruled from the Twisted Tower. The streets feel unchanged, but those who remember know two histories now sit uneasily as one.
Then Midwinter tested the dale. As the Dalelands Council gathered within the Tower to debate trade and winter provisions, the Zhentarim struck. A once-familiar gnome arrived, riding a young spirit dragon whose ruinous breath slew guards and priests in the snow-covered courtyard. Amid the chaos, the woman leading the assault vanished through illusion and escaped. Yet the Tower did not fall. The delegates were protected. The Council concluded its business. Surviving Zhents were chained and imprisoned beneath the Tower by order of Lady Khara Sulwood. The dragon, offered tribute instead of steel, departed the sky unhindered.
Shadowdale mourns its dead. Lolth-sworn Drow still stir in the depths, Zhentarim schemes persist, and pressure mounts from Sembia. But the dale stands in defiance.
Ways we play:
- Adventures: tradition, combat-focused games.
- Tasks: skill-based games with heavy RP focus.
- Roleplaying (RP): socialize with other players in settings around Shadowdale.
- Sparring (PvP): light-hearted PvP in the training grounds.
- Crafting: we use a modified version of the 5.5e crafting system from the PHB and DMG.

The Cosmic Inbetween is a hub world in the astral sea, where you interact with other people that intentionally or not have arrived here. It is calm but it too has its own troubles outside the main town.
For the adventuring souls that join, they have the chance to help the purpose of the world, helping other planes with minor to massive asks, ranging from dying worlds to those that just need an extra hand.

Welcome to The Living World of Galdrypha
A day in real life is a day in the fantasy world we play in. We try to involve in-depth systems and intricate storylines for you to enjoy.
An adventurer is most commonly what people play and what we see... though plenty of people literally play alchemists, tamers, smiths, magic item enchanters, and many more professions we're advancing with our own rules.
To explain a little bit of the server before you join... we have a long list of Dungeon Masters who post mini-campaign arcs or one-shots for your character to join. In between all adventures you perform in will be about most of your time in the server. It's mostly RP between player characters when you're in your downtime.
Some set expectations too high that quests and adventure postings are on the ready by command, but really the a good portion of playtime should be expected to be RP simply because we don't pay our dungeon masters here and it's just for fun. Enjoy the leveling process and keep it slow, it's the story along the way rather than reaching your maxed out build.
We are always innovating new systems, so never be afraid to ask about something if you do not understand.
This is a low-mid medieval fantasy setting, my best example is likely the Witcher's setting when it comes to comparing our style to another's.
We welcome you to Radiance! It is based within the kingdom of Lorinth which is the battlefront of Galdrypha fighting of giants, primordials, and inside fighting of crime organizations.

A World of Deep, Custom Mechanics: We've woven a tapestry of homebrew systems that go beyond the standard rules. Master Crafting systems, coller stellar coins, and make and improve your own Guilds, each with powerful and important buffs to grant to you on your journey to greatness.
An Endgame Worth the Grind: The journey to level 20 is not the end. It is the beginning of your true trial. Gather the server's greatest champions and face legendary World Bosses. These are not mere monsters; they are forces of nature, elder gods, and world-ending calamities. Your victories (or defeats) will be etched into the server's history forever. These bosses are personally made, preset bosses that only lvl 20 heroes can challenge. Defeat them to gain to gain access to powerful boons and unique legendary items.
