The year is 2297, and America remains a wasteland. Ten years have passed since the Minutemen secured control over the Massachusetts Commonwealth, destroying the Institute and forcing the Brotherhood of Steel to withdraw back to their old strongholds in the Capital Wasteland. For a time it seemed like the Commonwealth might finally know peace, but the wastes never stay quiet for long. Across the Eastern Commonwealths, old powers and new threats alike wait in the shadows, watching for the moment to strike.

The Brotherhood tightens its grip around the ruins of Washington D.C, rebuilding its strength after years of costly campaigns. At the same time, the shadows remain crowded with enemies. Disconnected fragments of the Enclave still endure despite their defeats. What remains of Eden’s Enclave still struggles to recover after their disastrous defeats in the Capitol Wasteland with many of their forces scattered throughout the wastes, while the Appalachian Enclave reels from the loss of MODUS and the chaos left in its wake. Elsewhere, survivors of the old Chinese invasion cells continue to hide among the ruins, some fully assimilated into the wasteland, while others still cling to dreams of the Communist Party and a reborn China. Raiders, mercenaries, slavers, and warlords carve up what remains of civilization as the people of the wasteland are caught in the middle of it all.

The old world is dead, but its ghosts still fight for control of the new one. What path will you take?
