𓈒 ⠀I The magical relic, in heightened emotion of fury and rage, imploded, cursing the muggles around it. It was a violent transformation of which turned them into monsters... faceless monsters with long-limbs, jagged spines and a taste.. for magical flesh.

Penwick.ink is a 16+, volunteer-run, "play-by-post" writing site set within the Harry Potter universe. It is not an alternate universe (AU), Penwick exists within the canon world of Harry Potter, but outside the timeline of the books/movies and in an original setting.

Penwick was founded by writers for writers. Many RP platforms either lock you into rigid systems, have a community that seems hard to break into, or overwhelm players with complicated mechanics. Penwick was created out of a desire for a place for collaborative storytelling with minimal friction, fun and simple mechanics, a welcoming community, and enough worldbuilding to support deep storytelling without limiting it.

*Magic & Mixtapes* is a Harry Potter roleplay server set in the Marauders era (1976)!

The Marauders era is set in the 1970s, before the initial rise of Voldemort's power and nearing the beginning of the First Wizarding War. Hogwarts remained a sanctuary of magical education, youthful adventures, and mischief, all while the shadow of war loomed beyond its walls. Dark magic was on the rise, with pure-blood supremacy gaining attention and Death Eaters recruiting from influential pure-blood families. Wizard society became increasingly divided. Hogsmeade visits and Quidditch matches provided fleeting moments of normality amongst the growing unrest. Outside the castle, attacks on muggle-borns grew, and the Ministry of Magic struggled to contain the violence.

What we have:

- New server so you can have an active role in shaping the server

It is the year 2000, nearly two years after the end of the Second Wizarding War. Though Lord Voldemort has fallen and many Death Eaters were captured or forced into hiding, peace has proven fragile. Across Britain, whispers of dark magic grow louder as old loyalties resurface and forgotten alliances are rekindled.

Concerned by the possibility of another conflict, Professor McGonagall and Harry Potter work together to strengthen the magical community. Hogwarts remains a place of learning, but its curriculum has expanded to better prepare witches and wizards for the challenges of the modern world. Students now have greater opportunities to pursue advanced magical studies, refine their skills, and shape their own futures.

While the castle halls once again echo with laughter, friendship, and discovery, an uneasy feeling lingers beneath the surface. The wizarding world stands at a crossroads, and the choices made today may determine its future tomorrow.

"A CHANCE OF A LIFETIME," Professor Dumbledore announced on the morning of September 2nd, his eyes twinkling under half moon spectacles. "Our very first annual vacation to the Ise of Echoes, the Wyvern Resort!"

Whispers went up amongst the Student's in the Great Hall. *Vacation? Did he say Vacation?* No homework, a chance to ride in whatever an aeroplane is, and a tropical island to enjoy for two entire weeks. Who wouldn't want a chance for that?

It wasn't until the plane ride that things began to take an... unexpected turn.

The plane ride was full of the same pureblood versus the rest of the school mentality that's typical in Hogwarts; until a lightning storm came out of nowhere once they were nearly at the Isle of Echoes.

It shot balls of lightning at the plane, sending it careening and nearly crashing if it weren't for the pilots quick thinking. They managed to land the plane on the flight path just outside of the Hangar.

And...

Utter silence.

No guests to greet them. Not a single person to help guide the plane *into* the Hangar.

The marauders and the rest of the school were utterly alone and it was up to them to figure out the mystery of *why.*
