Penwick.ink is a 16+, volunteer-run, "play-by-post" writing site set within the Harry Potter universe. It is not an alternate universe (AU), Penwick exists within the canon world of Harry Potter, but outside the timeline of the books/movies and in an original setting.

Penwick was founded by writers for writers. Many RP platforms either lock you into rigid systems, have a community that seems hard to break into, or overwhelm players with complicated mechanics. Penwick was created out of a desire for a place for collaborative storytelling with minimal friction, fun and simple mechanics, a welcoming community, and enough worldbuilding to support deep storytelling without limiting it.

Expansive, Original Setting
Penwick.ink has multiple settings, including the site's namesake school, a university, and other locations all around the wizarding world!

Houses & Sorting Ceremony
Penwick has its own House system! Student characters are sorted through an in-character Sorting Ceremony that takes into account your responses to our Sorting prompts. Your House shapes your character’s social circle, dormitory, and certain in-character opportunities.

Wand Shops
All characters, students and adults alike, receive a wand through one of our Wand Shops. This tool helps you determine your character’s wand core, wood, length, and general personality fit.

Penwick.ink is brand-new! This means that in addition to all you see, more is on the way! New wand shops, item shops, sports, the list goes on and on. Joining now means that you are going to be a part of shaping this incredible world!
