welcome, our story begins in 1564...

a few years after mary, queen of scots has returns to scotland. while to the rest of europe, it is stable, in reality it is fragile held together by treaties, uneasy nobles, and the long shadow of england. mary stuart has fought her wars. now she must fight time, legacy, and prophecy while her daughter — like many other royal children — are growing up caught between being a longing to be a kid who wants freedom and a future ruler the country needs.

while france is caught in a long reigning religious war, england is coming for scotland and it's throne. while mary tries to keep the peace in scotland. the next generation of rulers must rise, will they change history, or will they meet the same fate? how long will they reign?

children of the ton welcome to a new season expect with a twist. mayfair seems to be welcoming guest from overseas and rumor has it as theirs a bastard daughter pining for her spot on the throne. i wonder who will pair this season? which great houses will fall into ruins and who will ascend?

forgive me dear reader as i haven’t introduced myself properly. though your parents shall know who i am. I’m lady whistledown and you have stepped into my arena. this year will be different. you are the children of great families and some of you I know will fail to make your mark on the ton.

we start in the year 2015. . .

the entity that resides in the blackwood estate, often called slenderman, doesn’t hunt the way people think. it doesn’t need to chase, it selects. it watches people over time, those who are vulnerable, unstable, obsessive, or simply unlucky. it appears in glimpses at first, such as a figure between trees, a silhouette in photos, a presence just outside peripheral vision. slenderman doesn’t always act directly. that’s where his proxies come in. proxies are not born, they’re made. each one encountered the entity and didn’t escape. some made “deals” to survive. some don’t even remember who they used to be. now, they serve as extensions of its will inside and outside the mansion.

*but it has changed overtime, slenderman has come to understand how to handle his proxy and residents. in his past, he was a monster, but now, once you truly get to know him, he is like a father to those who become his proxy. he wants to help those that are lost, unfortunate, unlucky. give them a place they can call home
