This server is dedicated to North America's Archaic era (ca. 8000-1000 B.C.E.). This era, the longest in North America's prehistory, is its least studied period. It receives less funding and mentions than the Paleo period, the Woodland, the Mississippian, or the Contact Era. The Archaic is important because most traditions and beliefs documented during the Contact Era and afterward began in this era. Having the Archaic and Old Copper Complex, perhaps one of North America's and prehistory's greatest mysteries, discussed internationally is this server's long-term goal.
