So, I saw the Ace Combat 8 trailer at the Game Awards. And I watched a little Top Gun. And I played some Rogue Squadron. And I've been a lifelong Star Wars fan, or at least for as long as I can remember. And, I've always been a huge fan of narrative roleplay. Are you seeing where this is going yet?

...A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Welcome to X-Wing! We're a fully literate, fully english Star Wars text roleplay that is heavily inspired by the legends novel series of the same name, as well as various pieces of air/spacecraft related media, particularly games that fall into the arcade dogfighter category. Indeed, we are heavily powered by the rule of cool and character development through and through! Woe, thine whom write orders of battle and adheres to strict milsim limitations. The joy, fantasy, and whimsy of a true Science-Fantasy writing experience be upon ye.

Our story begins in 0BBY, right after the destruction of the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station above the Gas Giant of Yavin. Our heroes, you, are what remains of Blue and Green Squadrons, desperately fleeing from an Empire hellbent on delivering vengeance against the terrorists responsible for the destruction of their superweapon. A tattered fighter squadron made up of rookie pilots and traumatized survivors, will you be able to regroup, gain your bearings, and take the fight back to the Empire? Only time will tell, I suppose. Canon characters and plot do exist in this roleplay, but will be unavailable to play. We are telling our own little story here, after all.

It's 2026, so it's a good time to turn over a new leaf. You're fully welcome to make a home for yourself here regardless of past encounters, so long as you follow the rules we've outlined. Thanks. <3

5 years after Order 66, the Empire tightens its grip across the stars, but whispers of rebellion grow louder every day. Whether you stand with the Rebel Alliance, serve the Empire, walk the path of a bounty hunter, or carve your own destiny — your story begins now. Step into the fight. The galaxy is watching. Our Au for this roleplay comprises of revamping the Rebellion into something more. The GAR Remnants, CIS Remnants, Saw's Partisans, All Planetary Militias, All Military Units that aren't with the Empire, All Political Individuals that appear publicly loyal to the Empire but secretly loyal to the Rebellion, the Mandalorian Clans only just to ensure Mandalore is freed so more of being an ally than fully joining, and the Jedi Survivors go on to rebuild the Jedi Order after Order 66 with who remains and also join the various rebel cells, the Hidden Path and every single Rebel Cell will eventually band together to form the Alliance to Restore the Republic

We're implementing both Canon & Legends lore into the timeline while also adding our own fan twist into the lore. For the war aspect we're taking the realism from Andor, to add the political side, and realistic outcomes of the early days of the Galactic Civil War and with the Rebellion being revamped, the Empire does have a more bigger military power just to make the stakes more serious and more dangerous for an organized Rebellion to form and fight back.
