Crestfall Academy is an elite college known for producing some of the greatest minds and warriors in both academics and the world of Cardfight!! Vanguard. Founded over a century ago by the legendary cardfighter Vaughn Crestfall, the academy was built on the philosophy that cardfighting is more than just a game—it is a battle of souls, intellect, and heart.
The academy is located in the historic city of Heartspire, a metropolis renowned for its deep connection to the game of Vanguard. Known as the Cradle of Cardfighters, Heartspire is home to countless tournaments, legendary cardfighters, and ancient cardfighting relics. It is said that every major event in the history of Vanguard has some connection to this city, making Crestfall Academy a fitting home for the best and brightest duelists.

Cardfight Vanguard has truly become a global phenomenon, it’s the most popular card game in the world and with this popularity, people treat the game as a national sport. Famous Cardfighters are seen as celebrities similar to K-pop idols. However due to this popularity, the game is now in a state where people are starting to scrutinize it.

Vanguard became less about the card game and more about money and profit. Capitalism ruled the game, until a tournament was announced 5 years ago.

The **Cray Rumble!** A team battle royal style tournament where the winner, gets 1 wish come true. Going on for four years, The Cray Rumble is now seen as an escape from the status-quo. With more and more people participating in the tournament it seems vanguard has returned to its roots.

The Year is now 20XX and it’s the fifth year anniversary of the tournament. Once the tournament ends, the organizers promises to reveal something that will forever change Vanguard.

A white void surrounds you—limitless, empty, still. Slowly, shimmering particles of light gather before you, swirling and vibrating with power. They merge into a breathtaking, divine figure.
Before you stands a majestic, celestial dragon, its form adorned in radiant gold and shimmering azure armor. Its massive wings stretch outward like blades of light, feathers glowing with a sacred hue. Flowing blue hair cascades behind its helm-like crest, and horns curve elegantly from its crown. A glowing halo floats just above its head, pulsing with holy energy. Its sharp, intense gaze pierces through you—not like a beast, but like a guardian who has seen the rise and fall of countless realities.
It speaks:
"Greetings, child. I am Gabwellius. Thank you for giving me your final answer. Now, we shall take our departure."
The whiteness begins to twist, the air warping as if reality itself is being rewritten. The empty space dissolves into a vast chamber filled with strange and powerful beings:
Armored knights, one being an angel. Towering dragons, one with a samurai outfit, the other with a red armor and the third like a wise wild dragon. A human with giant mechanical arm. A zombie with the bottom half looking like an octopus creature. A mermaid with purplish eyes. A cat girl with an idol outfit and a grin on her face. A demon with a giant scythe and raven wings. Two angels—identical in form, yet one radiates divine light while the other emptiness. A hulking machine, whirring with an insane energy.

They are all staring at you.
