In this modern day world, humans live alongside monsters known as Ghouls. Ghouls look no different to humans, but have to eat humans to survive. Some ghouls like to keep their heads down and only feast on suicide victims, while others like to go for living prey. Ghouls only need to eat once a month minimum to survive, but can eat multiple humans a day.
Ghouls are differed from humans due to the excessive count of RC Cells in their body and an extra organ known as a Kakuhou Sac, in this server the ghoul is capable of regenerating this organ but will only happen between RPs. When the Kakuhou Sac is active a Ghoul's inbuilt weapon, called a Kagune, is released - piercing the skin and taking its form. Kagunes take up to 15 years to fully develop and an early release can result in a stunted growth and unbalanced Kagune.
In the 1990s, the CCG were formed to initially control Ghoul populations and exterminate any ghoul that were to be seen performing excessive levels of feeding. At first, this worked - using brand new technologies such as Quinques and Q-Bullets made from extracted Kakuhou sacs. However, after the passing of the CCG's founding director, Koji Yoshinaga, in the early 2010s, the new director of Daiki Sano had a new plan... to terminate the entire ghoul population of Japan.
In 2025, Ghouls live in fear of the CCG. As their license to kill means that no single ghoul, regardless of lifestyle or background, is truly safe.
