Hello, and welcome to LotR: The War of the Jewels! This Discord server is all about Roleplaying in the realm of Beleriand during the First Age inside the wonderful world of Tolkien's Legendarium. The exact timeline is set in the year 260 of the First Age almost immediately after the mighty Dragon, Glaurung disobeyed his master Morgoth and made his first appearance in an intense fight between Morgoth's forces and the Elves of Beleriand.

This server also has many, many races to Roleplay as, for example, you can Roleplay as a intimidating Balrog or a fire breathing Dragon, or if your more in tune with the good factions, you can Roleplay as a forest wandering Ent, fight against Morgoth as a fierce Elf or a stubborn Dwarf, and these are only a few examples of tons of different races you can Roleplay as! And if you don't want to create a character, you can choose a Canon Character like Sauron or Turgon and Roleplay as them in Beleriand, and these are only 2 examples of tons of Canon Characters that are available, and join soon for the spots are lowering by the hour!

❖ The Setting — 1494 Years of the Trees

The Two Trees still shine in **Valinor**. Laurelin and Telperion bathe the Blessed Realm in mingled gold and silver light. Yet beneath their radiance, unrest stirs.

In **Tirion**, the Noldor thrive in craft and pride under High King **Finwë**. His sons; **Fëanor**, **Fingolfin**, and **Finarfin**, stand divided in temperament, ambition, and loyalty.

Far to the north, in secret malice, **Melkor** whispers among the Noldor, sowing suspicion and flame. Though he walks in seeming humility after his pardon, the shadow has not left him.

The Silmarils have not yet been stolen. The Darkening has not yet come. The Doom has not yet been spoken.

But the air trembles with what is to be.

❖ Server Timeline

**Year: 1494 Y.T.**

* Melkor has been released from Mandos and moves freely in Valinor.
* Fëanor’s skill and pride are at their height.
* Tensions quietly rise between the Houses of Finwë.
* The Teleri dwell in **Alqualondë**.
* The Vanyar remain near **Valmar** in devotion to the Valar.
* Middle-earth lies largely unseen and unruled by the Noldor.

This is a **pre-Darkening political and character-driven era**: rich in intrigue, alliances, rivalries, forbidden friendships, courtly drama, and philosophical conflict.

✔ Canon characters are welcome (played accurately to lore).
✔ OCs may belong to established Houses.
✔ OCs cannot contradict established Tolkien canon events.
✔ Major canon events (The Darkening, Kinslaying, Exile) will occur on a mod-controlled timeline.
