Arcanum : Veins of Society is a low-modern Fantasy in a custom world where an entity made of magic came into being, ruled for several hundreds of years, died, and left behind beings known as Mages. Beings which are capable of casting magic, all unique in their own way, from Pyromancy to Necromancy, almost nothing is off the table for customization.
Humans, seeing the value of Mages, capitalized off this by taking the remains of dead Mages and using them to power their technology, have advanced the world's global connectivity, transport, and weaponry all within a few hundred years, all in order to not be outclassed by Mages.

All of this is wrapped up in a global, silent faction war as various different organizations, religious groups, and companies vie for their own goals that would inevitably destroy or leave the others obsolete. Shattered Veil is a long-form roleplay project inspired by classic internet creepypastas, early grimdark storytelling, horror movies/stories, and unsettling “something is wrong” narratives that many of us grew up with. While you may recognize certain vibes, themes, or echoes of those stories, nothing here is a direct recreation. Characters, locations, and events are all original, reimagined, and shaped by player action.

This is not a direct retelling of our beloved childhood classics, it’s an inspired reinterpretation.

Here's a little in character lore synopsis

- An old speaker crackles to life on a pole in the center of the city. A voice resembling that of a deep rasp clears its throat on the other end, before beginning to speak -

"I've been noticing a sharp uptick in the amount of survivors moving into our little slice of infected paradise, so, I figured a history lesson would be in order.

For those of you without a map, we're far in the north of Canada. Well, not exactly. We're near the borderline of Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm one of the oldest survivors in town. Born and raised here. I'm in my 70's, and I figured this old boy should get stories out for as long as he can draw breath"

*a deep chuckle echoes through the speaker, gently distorting by the feedback caused by someone being to close to a microphone*

"It was 40 years ago, give or take. I think it was 2019?. I was 32 when the event most refer to as "The Fall" happened. But, I remember it as Bloody Monday.

It was quite the thing. A town named Broken Bend was actually a military test site for this new disease. It broke out, took over in nearly a week. Before we knew it, this disease had leapt across countries, even oceans. Nobody was safe.

Within two years, the world's population had plummeted 85%. Within five years, a mere 7% of the total population was left uninfected, or immune. We've recovered as much as we can since. We're only down 88% of the population now. Not much, but we're rebuilding, I suppose.

It's nice to see so many new faces. It's good to see that maybe, just maybe, this world isn't doomed forever.

Well, this is where I should let you go. I'll get a good distraction going for the infected, let everyone do a little scavenging. Whaddya think, eh?"

Corrupted Dreams is a grimdark fantasy RP server with a unique world. The power system is based on the Major Arcana, with each card representing a different class of magic. We have dozens of unique playable races, and a world with in-depth lore that you can help to be a part of and expand upon!

Oscuria is a land where the strong reign supreme and the weak are crushed. In this world, life force is the key to growing stronger, and the only way to obtain it is by taking the life of another. Most of the world is a desolate land ruled by warlords, murderers, and monsters. Yet, life finds a way. Amongst this hell are small pockets of civilization, societies that manage to stay alive through either secrecy or strength. Recently, though, the world has begun to change. The first sparks of a potential worldwide conflict have been set in motion. Everyone has something to gain and something more to lose.


A few things to know:

- First: You MUST be over 18 to participate in this server. This is a grimdark setting and mature themes will be present. Themes of Murder, Suicide, and Slavery are all commonplace. Mentions of taboo topics such as SA are also possible. Please do not join unless you are comfortable with these topics.

- Second: This is a story-based server. The goal is to tell a story collaboratively. Conflict between characters is inevitable, and players are expected to act maturely and not turn in-character conflicts into out-of-character drama.

- Finally, we are expecting some level of effort. You don't need to be experienced, but you are expected to make your characters align with the lore. This means no interdimensional overpowered characters. These are expectations that even someone with no RP experience should be able to follow.
