It's been years since the supposed defeat of the alien creatures from an alternate dimension. Years since we all thought we could live normal, happy lives in Hawkins.

But Hawkins is cursed. Cursed by something that refuses to die. Refuses to let go.

The Laboratory is gone, physically nowhere to be seen, run down, locked up, access restricted. But the people behind the Lab are still running underground operations.

Literal underground operations taking place underneath the original lab. Attempts on new children. All failed, none special enough.

Well, almost all failed.

An almost perfect copy.

And she's being used to create another opening. Another connection to that world.

We need access to that world as much as it needs access to us. Need for power is the only thing relating them to us.
