What if monsters were real? What if every night terror, myth, legend, folklore, and fairy tale was true? Well, there is some truth to these stories about monsters. They're real, just about as real as you and me. The reason these creatures haven't been discovered is because they aren't of our world. They come from a dimension that overlaps ours, which occasionally allows them to cross over into our world through a fissure between realities called the Rift.
The Rift would naturally restore balance during these instances and would return these creatures to their own world after some time. However, this has changed. The Rift has been fractured by an unknown entity, allowing cryptids to enter our own world without restraint.
In order to contain this calamity, an organization that studies cryptids called the Crimson Labs has made a partnership with the military in order to create an armed force to combat these creatures and preserve peace. This armed force is called the Cryptid Extermination Department, otherwise known as the CED.
Despite this, there are more threats on the horizon, with a cult following called the Eclipse Cult appearing. They worship the entity that caused the fracture of the Rift and seek to carry out its will. These cultists claim to have been granted "blessings" by the Rift and are particularly at odds with the Crimson Labs.
You've been thrown into a war where it's kill or be killed, eat or be eaten with your life and ideals on the line. Which side will you choose?

In the early 2000's an unexpected thing occurred that shocked the world to it's core.
They were shown that a man could Fly.
This sparked the First Superhero Emergence! An event that lead to the birth of the so called "Golden Age" of super-heroics and technological progress. However, with the rise of heroes, villains rose to meet them in combat.
This eventually lead to a massive war, known only as "The Golden Sky Conflict" which saw many heroes and villains do battle across the planet! The heroes eventually won, though at a great cost. . . It lead to the end of the Superhero Phenomenon. But life went on. . .
After the war there was an era of peace. While there were a few superheroes and villains, they didn't seem to make much of an impact, until now. . .
Because a new chapter in the world of Sapphire City has begun! And it calls to you

For 15 years, nations faked unity: kids from rival villages trained together in joint academies, steam trains linked old battlegrounds, and shared medical jutsu hid the lingering hate. But these treaties born of exhaustion cracked when the two legendary saviors clashed atop Hokage Rock, one preaching peace as healing, the other warning of forgotten doom. They parted without a fight, vanishing east and west, leaving an infant new world behind.
**Naruto World: Absolution** is a unique online TTRPG set in a darker, politically driven shinobi world where victory came at a cost and *nobody* walked away clean.

System: Mutants & Masterminds 3rd Edition
Time Zone: Any, but the server is mostly populated by EST players. Though many with terrible sleep schedules.
Game style: Text-based RP. However, its a persistent world, pretty much a play-by-post where people can always start a scene and interact with other players, or deal with Villain run events to spark interactions.
Description: It's the near future of 2030, set in U.S city Boston. Super Powers have been common for the past 80 year, with technology reaching new heights. Heroes are apart of the Tempest Tomorrow Initiative, a program where aspiring heroes join to gain the mentorship of the world's premier Superhero Team, The Tempest Titans, in order to eventually join the team!
Or not.
Your character could also just be someone living in Boston, or even a vigilante. They don't even have to join the program. And eventually you can build a villain.
Char Creation Notes: Heroes are PL 10, and no effect on the effect chart can exceed 10 (Aside from a few exceptions), and you can not trade off more than 50% of something.
Misc Notes: Magic does exist, but don't expect to be able to make a full blown Doctor Strange. However, gods and deities do not exist. Also the first character you make cannot be a Villain. This is done to ensure the player is trustworthiness.
