Sburban University is a Humanstuck roleplay wherein we take our roleplaying seriously--not so seriously we aren't having fun though, having fun is the goal after all!

On the west coast is a modestly prestigious university in the middle of the city of Sburbia. People from all walks of life come here to develop their careers and further their education. It's right next to the beach, so students can walk on over after class and go for a swim, or simply get a tan in the sun. The night life is good in the downtown area, with several places to mingle at. School clubs and Greek life are open to join as well, so there's plenty of opportunities to get involved on-campus and meet likeminded folk. Sburban University welcomes you!

• A community and server who cares about roleplaying and Homestuck!

Minimum age req: 20 years old.
‣ This a humanstuck AU set in the present year of 2026. That means all the non-human races (trolls, cherubs, etc) are humans, and humans… are also humans. You get it.
‣ Sburban Jungle is a community that doesn’t care about someone’s tax bracket, as they have homes for all. From shoebox studios on the lower floors all the way to two penthouses spanning the entire top two floors, there is something for everyone.
‣ Outside, there’s a dog run for pups, a playground for the kiddos, and an extra large aquatic area sporting a pool (with a slide!), a jacuzzi, and even a splash pad for the little ones. Seating areas both within the pool grounds and around the small park are fitted with grilling stations to cookout.
‣ Inside, there is a fully equipped gym, a conference room in a study area, a clubhouse lounge, and even a small cafe in the center lobby.
‣ Your muse is included in a group chat with other residents, where different community happenings can be discussed. It’s an “unofficial” group chat, meant for connecting members over local news, maintenance concerns, general questions, etc. *Meant* being the key word!
‣ Because there is no ectobiology, ages may vary, but we ask that canon birthdays be kept the same.
‣ Canon only, no OCs at this time, thank you.

For eons, monsters and magical beings lived in secret, hidden behind their “non-existent" status. Vampires, witches, werewolves, and more were dismissed as folklore while humans went about their lives, oblivious to the supernatural world woven into their own.
As time passed, these creatures settled across America, forming insular communities. Each species kept to itself, breeding mistrust and conflict. Rumors turned into slander, then strife. The supernatural world fractured, yet most assumed humans would remain blissfully unaware forever.
Until they didn't.
This year, the veil was blown to smithereens! Magic is real. Monsters walk among us. And now, everyone knows.
The revelation triggered martial law. Panic spread fast, accelerated further by the media. While some monsters live peacefully and pass as human, others; like the one who murdered a politician on live TV; have stoked fear. Genesis City, a river-bordering metropolis once known for its vibrant culture, is now a battleground of paranoia, activism, and politics. The government is not helping.
Due to a legal loophole, monsters have no recognized rights. They’re not citizens. They’re not protected. Corporations and lobbyists are pushing monster-hunting as a solution to the latest ongoing economic crisis. Fangs, pelts, and cheap labor are being sold as commodities to prop up a collapsing system. Activists are fighting back, but they’re outgunned.
The two now-divorced presidents remain silent, too busy arguing over song royalties to address the crisis. Meanwhile, local politicians in Genesis City are considering the worst: full-scale purges. With LGBTQ+ rights already under threat, it’s clear that anything goes under this administration.
