This server is by and for Appalachians, but also those interested generally in Appalachia. We are dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Appalachia, and we also frequently debate politics (usually as a means to uplift the region). We also exist as a hangout for all peoples, discussing various topics unrelated to Appalachia. If you have any interest in the region, this is the perfect place for you!
"What is Appalachia?" You may ask, let me explain.

Appalachia is a mountain range in the Eastern US, and Canada. However, we are concerned with the political and cultural history of the region. Appalachia has a rich history and culture that has been widely neglected by the rest of the world, and we here aim to preserve that culture and expose it. This culture and history is slowly but surely being lost, which is why we are so dedicated to preservation and exposure.

We are also concerned with preserving and reintroducing unique Appalachian dialects and accents back into the region, as the world becomes more interconnected, unique accents and dialects have been slowly going extinct. This is important, because the people speak is tied to their identity, and culture. Reviving and standardizing an Appalachian dialect would be extremely helpful in our pursuit of preserving our heritage.
