This is a server primarily for DPD and people with Cluster C personality disorders although people with other PD's or those informed on DPD and Cluster C may join. There's very few spaces for people with DPD and as someone with the disorder I hope to make a safe space for all of us.

🌿 [Avoidant Personality Disorder, also known as AVPD, APD or Anxious Personality Disorder, is categorised as a Cluster C Personality Disorder.

🌼 People who are diagnosed with this disorder are prone to pervasive patterns of extensive social inhibition, intense feelings of inadequacy and hypersensitivity to criticism and rejection. This disorder begins to show its presence in early adulthood and is only diagnosable after the age of 18 to avoid misdiagnosis.
Symptoms of this disorder consist of:
1. Avoiding activities that involve significant interpersonal contact due to a fear or criticism, disapproval, or rejection
2. Acting overly reluctant to take personal risks or to engage in new activities for fear that it may result in embarrassment
3. Being hesitant to open up and showing restraint in intimate relationships out of fear of being shamed, ridiculed or rejected
4. Viewing one’s self as being socially inept, inferior to others or personally unappealing
5. Feeling inhibited in new interpersonal situations because of feelings of inadequacy or inferiority
6. Acting unwilling or overly reluctant to get involved with people unless certain of being accepted or liked
7. Being preoccupied with the fear of being criticised, embarrassed or rejected in social situations
and require four or more of these to be present to qualify for a diagnosed.]

🌱 Self diagnosis is accepted in this server if you've thoroughly researched the assumed disorder, including any related or similar disorders. However, it is highly encouraged that this diagnosis is confirmed with a licensed professional.
