The year is 4 ABY, and the events of Episode VI, the Return of the Jedi, have just reached their climax. The Rebellion has just won the Battle of Endor, with the destruction of the Second Death Star and the deaths of both the Emperor and Vader sending the Empire on the retreat.

However such a sudden shift in the force from such an event would reach a sudden, cataclysmic turn. Sidious, refusing to accept his defeat and death, has decided a last-minute attempt with forbidden Sith Sorcery to turn back time to before Vader betrayed him. Instead, such wanton disregard for the Force would cause the World Between Worlds, already in decline and unstable from his past actions throughout Galactic History, to implode...and with it, the galaxy irrevocably changed.

Reports of massive CIS fleets in the Outer Rim and reappearances of those thought to have died during the Clone Wars. Dark energies present in the former Sith Space and figures thought to be legends coming from the Unknown Regions. The Empire itself in sudden disarray as it begins to crumble and collapse under Pestage's rule with warlords, grand admirals, and more that didn't exist before in the original timeline staking their claims on Imperial Territories while the Rebel Alliance itself has become the New Republic and is trying to liberate the galaxy yet another Alliance will soon appear to shake things up.
