Over half a millennia prior, multiple world-ending disasters struck simultaneously. The planet stopped spinning, remaining tidally locked to this day. Countless monsters ravaged the lands, annihilating everything they can. Entire oceans have changed, one filled with cursed blood, another filled with toxic waste. All sentient life was pushed to the brink of extinction, yet against all odds, they survived.

The current year is 411 A.D., After Disasters. Mankind has rebuilt. These lands are populated by species of all kinds, from Humans, Elves, Dwarves, to Angels and Demons, to various Beastfolk and Undead. Technology diversely differs depending on whether you're in the Dayside or Nightside on this unturning earth, ranging from spears and spells all the way up to futuristic firearms and cybernetics. Conflicts persist to this very day as more disasters quietly approach, unnoticed.

What this server offers:

Phoenix Academy is a RP focused around Skill and Spell based magic abilities. Using the stats of Mind, Body, and Stamina to determine your strength. There is some school aspects to it, and the school aspects will be improved over time to match what the populace wants. For now it's a simple participation or roll based system depending on the ongoing event!

In this server you get to be a student, and/or eventually a teacher. You can participate in classes, go through ten grades, or teach the ten grades. Gaining power based on knowledge, but also based on OPTIONAL combat performance! Meaning yes, you are not required to fight in this server. However it will be in many events.

You can also partake in fighting different classes of Creatures that have evolved due to being exposed to a sinister ancient magic, which has caused said creatures to turn into ferocious and intelligent beasts. Phoenix Academy's goal is to teach you, the students, to defend the three Kingdoms against these beasts. Eventually graduating and even becoming masters!

The Nation-states of Staggarath have come to know three things; Magic is Vile, The Night is Dark, Nobility is True.

Before this age where the Night is Dark and full of monsters, the Church of Ignis and the Crown of Staggarath decreed practitioners of Heathen Magic be put to death. It was 150 years ago when the night went dark save for the lonesome moon, and the Church's Faith and Divine Light could no longer fend off the monsters in the dark. The Nobility of the land, for their own purposes, suggested they take up the Practition of Magic. With reluctance, Crimson Sigil Academy was formed to help defend the Nation from the Night.

The Church still loathes Magic, the Night is starting to become more dangerous, and the Nobility have become restless in pursuit of power. ***Overview***
The Universitas Magicae Londinensis — or UML — is the UK’s most famous university for advanced magical study. Once known as the *Academia Lux et Umbra*, it was a place that studied both Light and Dark magic in balance, until history’s darker figures forced change. After the wars, shadow magics were outlawed, the school renamed, and most of it rebuilt beneath the Thames. Now, it stands as a mix of old and new, stone halls glowing with arcane light and a thousand secrets waiting under London’s streets.

Hidden in plain sight near Blackfriars, the university extends deep below the river, a labyrinth of lecture halls, libraries, and ancient vaults. The *Grand Aula*, a massive glass-domed auditorium beneath the Thames, reveals the water above, fish and merfolk drifting silently over students’ heads during lectures.

An artificial semi-autonomous island city-state off the West coast of the USA, it was founded towards the end of the war against the Cursed. Now, what *are* Cursed, precisely? Well, they are particularly powerful individuals at the cost of their humanity. Every one of them are corrupted, and groups managed to overrun several powerful countries, and many more with an unstable political structure, leading to the war.

Contrary to the Cursed, and thankfully more common, are the Blessed. Without the corrupting to their minds, such individuals are the best defence we have. The island is vulnerable, and any suspected Cursed activity must be reported immediately. No exceptions. Do not engage with the Cursed. We will take them in for thorough questioning to keep you safe. The stability of our nation depends on you. It does not matter how nice they may seem, they will take any advantage they can, and turn against you in a heartbeat. Do not chance it, do not think you know better. Cooperation with the Cursed will ruin your life, one way or another.
