A battle ensued between Asgore and the 4th fallen human, it was a long tough
battle ending in Asgore`s near-death victory… This made Gaster realize just how strong humans were, even if Asgore got the souls to break the barrier, humans would just attack monsters, another great war would break out and they would surely get killed or sealed back into the mountain.

Gaster had a plan..... Despite the king's wishes not to, he would secretly assemble a scientific team , hoping to study souls and find a more beneficial way to break the barrier. Gaster created a cover project, he would select monsters that had fallen down to try to "fix" them. When he "cured" them he would decide if they were worthy to be apart of this project.

he set up his own cameras around the underground to track any humans that may fall into the underground and snag them before anyone would notice, if anyone noticed he just cover it up.
