In the ten years following the Lighthouse War, Strangereal has suffered global catastrophe after global catastrophe. The rise of mercenaries have privatized war. The Sotoan subcontinent has exploded into a war of disastrous scale. An energy crisis, a drought, a famine.

In the year 2030, mercenaries were hired by private conglomerates in Jizhou to protect their assets in Central Sotoa. Following a failed IUNPK mission, Warfighters International has deployed their 8th Contractor Wing ‘Twilight’ to the area, leasing a former Erusean airbase for their operations.
