A thousand years have passed since the disappearance of Ainz Ooal Gown. The Great Tomb of Nazarick, little more than a myth, has left the world is drowning in its wake. The "unchained" servants of Ainz Ooal Gown have carved out their own cruel legacies in search of their master.
Drawn to Eldrathis like moths to a flame, the people of this land must contend not only with each other but with these ancient evils. So in a desperate bid for salvation, young spell casters have reached across Dimensions, Time and Space to pull New Heroes into their world.

It's Not Overlord

Came into the server excited for a new Overlord server to RP in, but the place is not... Overlord. The balancing is very off, and apparently there has been lots of staff/server drama about how unfair some features are, leading to even staff members leaving. Reading the actual systems in place and some of the custom abilities confirms this. Some are just straight up absurd to consider, ridiculously so, and it's clear very little thought has been put into ensuring fairness and balancing. It's just really weird. For example, one of the custom world classes, the strongest and rarest classes in the game you're supposed to have unlocked in an MMO, is obtained by... just telling a lie that others fell for? Whatever that means in terms of game mechanics. Then just for doing that, you're suddenly allowed to get a bunch of absurdly overpowered abilities like being completely immune to all illusions permanently. There's a lot more weird stuff like that, it seems very strange to me.
The class system seems radically different from what we know of the canon Yggdrasil system. Also, the "New World" isn't really the new world. None of the canon locations exist, it's just a generic fantasy map with ZERO Overlord references. And for those that are familiar with the premise of Overlord, they'll know new worlders were quite weak in comparison. But here, apparently high level native new worlders (level 70+) are a dime a dozen. Elementals and golems are also randomly banned for some reason despite being canon. Overall, just a very gross misinterpretation of the original work and I'm not sure why it's marketed as an Overlord server.
Lastly, RP is dead. There isn't a single active one as of this review. There are also no approved characters despite there being more than a few pending submissions since the owner seems to have driven off all his staff, but seems unable to get work done himself beyond daydreaming about weird ideas. Maybe there are active ERPs, but I wouldn't know as I opted out of NSFW channels since I wanted a cool Overlord experience and not porn.
Would not recommend for anyone looking for Overlord RP, but I guess that was to be expected when the entire server ad is just generic AI written slop.
