I've been here about a year now and it's become my favored place to both hang out and write rps.
As a ND transfem I feel quite safe here, within RP and OOC. I always feel like there's a level of safety and control to my interactions. Due to the nature of the game we can touch on darker topics without it getting overbearing, the few times things have gotten uncomfortable ooc I've reported it to staff and they've handled it swiftly. It's clear to me that while we joke around a ton, the staff takes the health of the community and the game seriously.
It's the kind of place where you won't get judged for the content of your character, but if you're not chill OOC you will be.
I like to examine darker themes and topics through writing, and I genuinely feel that this is a safe space for that. Also if there are themes I don't want to touch on in my stories, I can let staff know, they will take note of it and exclude it from my stories.
What more? The world itself is expansive, and rather than being solely player driven the plot is driven primarily by player-and-storyteller scenes.
While you earn xp for writing player-to-player scenes the only way your character really improves is through storyteller scenes, ensuring that what you get to spend xp on is relevant to the story. Thus we do not have players hoarding tons of xp and stats solely to powergame and bully other players, something I've seen a lot in other places.
This game is really for the people who love to put soul into their writing, for the stories between the players, the world and the relationships therein.
