Original characters can exist alongside the main story, living their own lives as pirates, marines, civilians, bounty hunters, or wanderers. They are not part of the Straw Hat crew, but they are very much part of the world. Their paths cross naturally with canon characters during island stops, shared events, or chance encounters, allowing interactions to develop without disrupting the core crew dynamic. These meetings may lead to temporary alliances, rivalries, friendships, or fleeting connections, but they do not result in permanent additions to the Sunny. Instead, the world feels lived-in: full of parallel stories unfolding at the same time.

The sea is vast, filled with countless lives moving in different directions. The Straw Hats sail forward as they have, but they are only one story among many. Here, the focus is not just on where the journey leads, but on everything that happens along the way.
