The Earth Federation, created with noble intentions, has become a greedy, imperialist superpower with a colonial monopoly on space. The Spacenoids living in the colonies have been exploited for labor, and they got sick of it.

In 0050, a group of workers at Side 3, led by Zeon Zum Deikun, overthrew the Federation-installed government, and declared independence, becoming the People's Republic of Zeon.

Since then, tensions have grown between the two nations, and war seems inevitable.
