The year is 20XX.

The first strange event was the appearance of The Singularity. A massive blue star that appeared with no warning, eclipsing the sun and dying the world under a deep purple sky. The second strange event was the rise of a mysterious disease called The Entropy, which strips a human being of The Foundational Elements of Human Nature--their Ethos (ethics and character), Logos (logic and reasoning) and Pathos (emotions and empathy) … Without ELP, those infected with The Entropy became violent, thoughtless husks.

Right when all hope seemed lost in this strange new world, Japan's largest tech company, Machina Tech built three walls, Ena, Dyo and Tria … called Rings, and within these walls, the safe haven known as Santolina was born.

Yet all was not right. A cure for The Entropy was needed, and so The Negentropy Project Research Team was founded. Operating underground, beneath the walled city, these experts created an experiment called The Game. They pulled Subjects--that's you--from other worlds in order to put them through a series of dangerous Trials that tests their mental, physical and emotional fortitude. All for the sake of gathering ELP to transfer to those suffering with The Entropy.
