i wandered into the forest heavily injured and without hope. but then, when i collapsed into a group of mushrooms that had formed themselves into a circle, the world around me changed. fantastical creatures and fairies appeared and nursed me back to health, and made me feel at home

A long, long time ago. I found myself a hunter, disoriented in an unfamiliar locale, famished, chilled... I nearly succumbed to inanition as the fire, with which I was warming my extremities, all but dissipated as the wind swept past. At that moment, an object was propelled squarely at my visage – a fragment of parchment. It was aged, gilded along the borders; the words were difficult to decipher, for time is an unrelenting force, causing things to vanish into nothingness.

I squinted, trying to decipher the paper. It was a promotional piece for an unusual site nestled within the woods; I nearly discarded it until I turned the sheet to ascertain whether anything was inscribed on the reverse. To my surprise, there was. Individually penned appraisals of the aforementioned place, each showcased disparate phrasings, syntactic arrangements,... It felt akin to being in a tavern, where this assemblage of travelers was urging me to accompany them. I shut my eyes fleetingly to envision the location, an enchanted fairy grove perhaps? Being a huntsman, I was born to be realistic – I ought not to have trusted in fantasies. Nonetheless, I still unsteadily arose, my feet propelled me through the blizzard to find this location. My destiny was calling my name, and I resolved to exert every effort to locate this copse.
