Join the march of time, the endless journey across the earth. From kingdoms to nations, and whatever comes next, there has always been troubled days, always history to write, always nations to save.
Make your mark on the history book, as you take charge of your own state to maintain its power for centuries more, or maybe, take a stand with your fellow revolutionaries. History is never forgotten but a nations path is never set in stone, try your best to control it, and create your ideal world.
You may play as either a state, which involves you fighting to preserve the current system and maintaining and expanding the power of the state, as well as representing and fighting for the nation on the international stage. There are special rules that make it impossible to fight against the current government if you play as the state, so how does one change the course of an unfit or corrupt regime?
You play a character, where you may organize the people to fight back, either by winning elections or violent revolution! Regardless of the era, troubled days is fundementally built around the revolutionary course of history, founding a movement and winning power, to keep power until another movement achieves power, so what will you do, will you be remembered as a great hero, a national pariah, or simply vanish into the sands of time?
The current era is the modern day, specifically February 15th, a few weeks before the iran war. The stability that has characterized the United States since the second world war has finally begun to fracture, with most of the changes from the new deal era widdled away due to several consecutive neoliberal presidents since Reagan. On the foreign front, the west has been bloodied by several lost wars, an American president many consider to be mad, and powerful new rivals nipping at their heals. Will you fight to save the old order from itself, make a play from abroad, or make a radical turn to change the world forever?
