🎻 One of the most prestigious secondary school of the modern day world, Northvale Academy. Northvale Academy was founded in 1779 along one of the oldest canals of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The school appears polished, traditional, and elegant. It is home to some of the worlds, and many of Europe’s elites.

-The campus itself, was made by a rich dutch man, who built his legacy on corrupt schemes. When eventually his actions gain publicity, he was forced into hiding leaving the institute to be left in the hands of his youngest son. With the school gaining increasingly more debt, the youngest son took bargains to ensure Northvale’s future as a prestigious school.

-Today, admissions to Northvale is almost impossible— with most of its student body coming from legacy. Students wear luxurious uniforms, speak multiple languages, and perform exceptionally well in academics. However, every five years, there is a lottery system granting five academically-gifted students full ride scholarships. This is called the five year five’s, and was an effort from the government to improve the gap between wealth.

Welcome to Astoria Borough, a peninsula in Alaska once known for its thriving tourism, logging, and mining industries. Now, cut off from the lower 48, it teeters on the brink of chaos and collapse.

Northern Ashes takes place in the fictional towns of Astoria Bay and Silver Ridge, following the mass exodus from mainland America after a catastrophic outbreak. While many fled to Canada, Hawaii, or one of the U.S. territories, others found themselves in Alaska in hopes of a save heaven, however isolation has come at a cost.

With supply lines severed, stores are forced to import the most basic necessities. Even the most simple things must be brought in from Canada, as well as by air and sea, causing prices to skyrocket. With this, people start to get desperate, turning to different methods to get basic necessities. Once-trusting neighbors now steal from one another, stores are looted, and the once-peaceful borough has become a battleground for survival.

As Astoria Borough slowly devolves into chaos, its people are left with two choices: hope they don’t become victims or abandon their morals in the name of survival.

In Northern Ashes, you get to step into the shoes of a resident of the fictional Astoria Bay or Silver Ridge, whether they lived there before the fall or found themselves there after fleeing the lower 48. You get to roleplay experiencing a different kind of apocalypse, one where instead of predictable zombies, you get to go against the worst enemy of them all, the people who you called neighbors, friends, even yourself. Desperation runs high as people do what they have to for survive, even if it means going against their own morals.
