I'll be honest, I don't like most roleplay servers nowadays because I think they all come down to the same gimmicks, plotlines, and disconnected if not outright malicious or aggravating staff. Colonia Vega is the exception to the norm because there's just so much shit to read, with an owner and staff team willing to help you every step of the way. One of my first interactions in joining the server was putting together 20 or so questions in a list about synthetics, and getting a reply back within the hour. That's some commitment.

I think the setting itself approaches the genre (cyberpunk/corporate dystopia etc) with more tact than a lot of other servers and keeps in mind the importance of common sense. The guy running it, Sim, seems to jump at every chance he gets to add to the lore and compendiums, be they the politics of the world or about random tech. You can make characters that are grounded and working a corporate day job, or you can make an ex-terrorist trying to get by in an environment full of corporate suck-ups. It's really a freeing feeling being able to experiment with character concepts and have faith they'll be received in the spirit of how they're made and not necessarily at face value.

The only real negative criticism I have against it is the character approval process (that is, the timeliness of it; it usually takes a few days) but I acknowledge it's both mitigable by poking staff and is a trade off when you're roleplaying in a literate setting. Neutral-wise, you'll have a lot to read. There's a metric fuckton of lore to engross yourself in and it's being added to literally every day or week.

Some other rapid-fire positives: People write worth a damn with multiple paragraphs, there's no AI bullshit cited or allowed anywhere, scammers get absolutely destroyed the moment they walk in the door, and the art used is credited. Love it.

Seriously, if you've been looking for a genuinely realistic sci-fi setting where the sky's still the limit, this is the place.
