A server dedicated to studying, discussing, practicing the philosophy of Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication: A Language of Compassion.
We aim to be a space that seeks understanding and respects the sender/receiver model of communication. We aim to allow space for events with a slower flow to respect the needs that are met by extra silence and extra reflection/introspection. And we love to have fun, too! Creating connecting events and games that are in the spirit of NVC and self-reflection, self-empathy, and understanding ourselves.
We have a few mods who care deeply about cultivating and keeping this space as we have seen the power of it firsthand, multiple times. If you don't want to practice NVC and you don't want to work through conflicts in NVC, the mods will likely not have the energy to moderate and may decide to ban or timeout a person without warning.
If you are 100% new to what NVC is, we suggest reading the book NVC: A Language of Compassion, and watching Rosenberg's 3-hour San-Francisco seminar before joining, unless you are desperately in need of emergency empathy, or just want to listen, in which case we aim to have spaces designated just for that also.
Welcome!
