*After recently becoming an orphan, 16-year-old Tohru Honda decides to live in a tent. She is found by the Sohma family, who, after hearing about her living situation, decide to take her in, in exchange for her cooking and cleaning for them. However, the Sohmas have a secret: twelve members are able to turn into animals of the Chinese Zodiac when hugged by the opposite sex. Tohru meets each of the Sohmas as she hears about their traumatic pasts and begins to heal their hearts...*
