The lumber mill closed years ago. The docks are gone. Jobs disappeared, families stayed, and the fog never really lifts anymore. Life in Paleto Bay is quiet… maybe too quiet.

The Chilliad County Sheriff’s Department handles the usual small-town problems: drunk fights, domestic calls, missing hunters, and the occasional meth lab buried deep in the forest.

Then a body is found.

Now the woods feel different.
People lock their doors earlier.
Strangers pass through town asking careful questions.
And something old may be waking beneath Mount Chiliad.
