Initially, The Royal Expeditionary Fleet (REF) was founded in May 2024 as a Sea of Thieves mil-sim (military simulator) community inspired by the British Navy during the age of sail. Our wardroom officers, collectively have tens of thousands of game-time in Sea of Thieves. In 2025, this server has matured into a community of lifelong friends who enjoy playing a variety of competitive and casual games together.
