As They Tend Their Garden

I’ve been in this server long enough to have watched the mass exodus that some of the other reviews are referring to, and I know what that whole situation was about. Indeed, there were rough people in the server mod team in the past…but they have moved on, and the server is growing much better now, with a community that shows signs of much more care and respect for each other - and much more comfort around each other.
I think the spirits honored in this server all tend to it, like it’s their garden and we’re their flowers. They cultivate us into what they want us to be, sometimes moving us into different flowerbeds when we don’t support the small ecosystem around us, which to the rest of us looks like shedding the unwanted and keeping the wanted. Let’s hope that pattern continues. But even if it doesn’t, the Temple will persist, and the Temple will recover.
Thank you so so much to the successor temple guardians as well, who put so much work into clearing the stench from the temple halls and then remaking the entire temple after the mass exodus. They did beautiful work, and the Temple is more pristine and organized than ever. Zen Buddhists always valued keeping their temples and monasteries clean when I sat with them regularly, so I think they would support these efforts.
