I got warned by staff for… what?

CONTEXT:
I tested out if nightshade & glaze still worked so some assholes don’t rip off my designs with some fucking ai slop

Why was I unsure of if Nightshade would work?
(I seen less videos praising it & it seemed like the hype has passed. Some people on Reddit say it doesn’t work anymore.)

What made it seem like it could still work?
(The developers of nightshade talk about how it still works. Lightbox expo hosted a stage about nightshade which was uploaded 5 months prior to this onto YouTube. They talked about how it worked etc and just praised it. The software was recently updated with Glaze 2.0)

Having many different conflicting sources i tried it out myself. Spend an hour glazing my artwork & downloaded chat GPT (cuz i don’t use it).
Turns out glaze doesn’t work. All those devs are lying. Lightbox expo spreading false information & the „update“ doesn’t prevent art from getting stolen.

Why did I put my art into Chat GPT?
I want to CONFIRM if it works. People say it doesn’t. People say it do. I’m starting a business and I can’t have people put my art into ai so I’m trying to think of every method I can to protect it. In order to protect it i am feeding it into AI, just like how it will be fed into AI when I post it on Instagram, Discord (they have new TOS & new pro AI CEO now), Printify and Canva. The difference is that people who actively feed my art into ai to make ai slop copycats steal my brand and actively try to sell based off my likeness.
I can’t escape companies using my art for ai but I though i did have a chance against scummy individuals.

When warning other people about nightshade in the general chat, staff approached me & told me I was in the wrong for downloading Chat GPT & testing it out. Members were insulting and flaming me. And yet staff decided to refuse to listen to my story & intentions, ignore the hate I was getting from everyone and warn me because of what…?

Some responses I got from staff is that I could’ve just done basic research (research is not basic when developers are praising nightshade & saying of how it still works flawlessly)

I asked staff what I should have done instead and I got no new response except that I should’ve done better research or not done anything at all. I asked further questions like „where should I have looked“ or „how would u deal with these conflicting sources“ they ignored me.

Just to clarify: i wasn’t PROMOTING putting art into AI. All I said was smth like “bruh guys nightshade doesn’t work. I tried it”.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
It surprised me of how instead of helping me in my dilemma or putting an end to the hate in general chat the staff decided to target me and ignore all the questions or concerns I had.

The way that they were questioning me about Discord feeding images into AI was silly too:
They said “don’t voluntarily feed art into AI”
I said most artists feed art into ai (Instagram discord etc..)
They said how do I know?
I posted a warning message from a different server mentioning the TOS change in September with an excerpt & link to the TOS
Staff said “send me a screenshot of the TOS”
I was confused why they didn’t just look that up themselves if what I posted wasn’t enough.
They said reading through it will take them hours.
I sent them a screenshot highlighting the TOS within 30 seconds. (Fr like it’s right under the “CONTENT” section in the TOS on their website. The screenshot I sent literally said what they had to find & where)

That alone kind of proved to me that they were never interested in my side of the story & only wanted to go with the majority & target me too.

Whether supporting new and upcoming artists, or finding amazing artists with amazing track records this server has been my resource to find amazing artists for the past 4 years, all who were friendly, easy to work with, and who provided beautiful works. Couldn't recommend a better place for arts and people searching for them.

Im a frequent buyer here. I don’t sell commissions. Ive gotten some very cute art from the people in this server, but that’s after sifting through 30+ message requests from scammers and people who didn’t read my post AT ALL. It’s very annoying to have to filter through so many messages just to be left with 2 artists that are actually legitimate/read my post.

Along with that, the adoptable section in this server has to be some type of social experiment ran by the staff team. Please, price your adopts however you’d like, but I don’t think someone is going to pay $80+ for a Pokemon adopt that just has a different color palette and maybe a new marking or two.

Overall, it’s an ok server. I have my nitpicks, and have found artists much quicker in other servers (it normally takes about a day for me to find an artist I actually want to commission after putting up a buying post), but it’s a good server to forward your messages to from time to time.
