Hawkins didn't survive.
Not really.

The gates to the upside down are no longer hidden by Hawkins lab or buried underneath a mall. They're ripping straight through the town of Hawkins, splitting roads, houses, the earth cracks open like it's living. Every second the upside down continues to bleed into the real world.

Ash falls, the air feels wrong, the sky darkened.
The creatures of the upside down need no longer to hide.

Something is coming. Something big.
Not an invasion, nor a takeover. *But an awakening.*

Vecna may be gone, but he is not dead. His body is missing but with the Prescence of the upside down all around them, they can feel him. Whatever he started didn't end with him, and won't.

The government has rolled in and taken quarantine, placing metal plates over the upside down, but that doesn't stop them. Monsters from the upside down still break through, a demogorgon or two, a pack of demodogs, a flock of demobats. The government manages to keep them contained for the most part, but some manage to slip away.

Holly Wheeler is taken, and that is when all hell breaks loose.
