Memento Mori (Hoyo Verse)

A Hoyoverse Zombie AU inspired by the The Last of Us - There was once a thriving city, but fifteen years ago, after a laboratory experiment gone wrong, a sickness broke out of control and infected over 96.8% of the population.

The infected people began to act strangely, with urges to eat human flesh, including their own flesh. They would gnaw on their own skin, and eventually they got to the point where the urge was so strong that they started to attack other people. After 48 hours, all those who were infected had turned into mindless monsters with only one instinct: Eat the flesh of living humans.

After most of the infected were officially killed off, the military set up a fort in the uptown area. There, the surviving people were given strict curfews and jobs to keep everyone safe. A few years later, a large group of citizens set up their own fort in the downtown area, attracting a military leader of their own.

Now, the surviving people live either in a fort charged by Military commanders, a smaller group of rogues with the hatred of the government, or by themselves in the dangerous world.

But one thing is the same no matter what, the people live in absolute fear.
