Life on earth had become agitated and dangerous. People rebelled against the capitalistic ways of the past, striking and boycotting underpaying jobs and a society that cared only for production and exploiting the masses. Country leaders tried everything except fairness, spreading fear and misinformation to try and force people to return to life. The inciting riots forced their leaders’ hands, and nuclear war had begun.

In the wake of devestation, old stories that spoke of the Fair Folk turned out to be real and their realm was destroyed with the land. The old magic was thrown back into existence, and the elves were forced to reshape their existence among the disaster. Rebel groups banded together, elves banded together, and both remained in shadowy corners and fallouts, hoping to survive. As the radiation settled, two new phenomena were discovered. People and animals forever mutated and a new type of magic that manipulated the radiation around them.

We begin the story five hundred years later. Visterot is all that remains of the decimated corpse once known as earth and enhanced by old and new magic. Stories and history once shared readily across continents, are now ancient relics of a world destroyed and on the brink of being forgotten.

Welcome to The Rift, a post-apocalyptic fantasy world set in a distant future after a cataclysmic event known as the Rift destroyed the land and warped the laws of physics. Your character will live their life surviving the wasteland and taking on vile monstrosities. Wherever your path leads you, be sure to bring your blades and guns. The wastes are not known to be merciful.
