Eventually, people adapted to the compounds within the disease, and awakened strange spiritual abilities from it. Even today, people still awaken these strange powers deep from within their souls. Furthermore, a greater evil with fangs and a thirst for blood have begun to emerge, and those who practice channeling energy from inside themselves, the Ripple, have begun to emerge to face this evil. And to keep everything in check, the Paranormal Defense Act within the Speedwagon Organization operates behind the scenes to clean up any messes and keep the public blissfully ignorant and safe.
