Welcome to Whispering Pines, Virginia, a small Appalachian town tucked away in the mountains. Population of thirteen hundred, Whispering Pines is the picture of a rural southern town. For many, the mountains are all they’ve ever known.

Its picturesque surroundings are a camouflage for its rough underbelly. Poor, underfunded, and run down, Pines is a town few people know of and even fewer like. Most folks pack up and leave the second they graduate as the population dwindles. No one says anything about the sounds from the woods, and the reports of people who vanish from the trails are a regularity.

But nothing stays the same for long. A major corporation known for being out for profit at the expense of the environment, Duke Industries, has begun to set its sights on Pines. Their agenda is full of shiny new plans to buy out land to make way for ‘industrial ventures’, after pushing out the local townsfolk and encroaching on Witch Mountain, of course. Employees of the company have begun to arrive in town, but not all is as it seems. Just a few days after the mayor made a land deal with the company, he and his family were found dead in their homes. Official reports claim it was a freak animal attack, but hunters know a bear doesn’t make those kinds of marks. The locals stay wary, ever suspicious, and always with the same warnings.

Don’t go looking for trouble, they’ll say as they fold over the morning newspaper, covering the front headline that reads ‘Missing.’ Leave the woods to its rightful owners, they’ll whisper as they lock their windows and doors at night. Whatever’s out there doesn’t want to be found, they’ll tell you, eyeing the tree line warily.

And above all else, never, ever, go off the path. For all our sakes.

New York City, 1958. An incomprehensible power had its slumber disturbed. After the launch of sputnik, oddities have arisen throughout the city. There have been reports of rats with human faces and other oddities beyond the public eyes. These were small in number, but nothing private investigators weren't willing to look into. As more was discovered, this otherworldly activity has only increased. Now many powerful groups in and out the city have dipped their fingers into the pot, as a certain 'gravity' seems to pull inquisitive minds together and co-operate or clash.

Ever since Raccoon City was infected with the T-Virus from the Umbrella Corporation, the spread and usage of engineered viruses and Bio Organic Weapons or BOWs has been on the rise. Many groups have risen to take advantage of Umbrella's fractured state to take what they could for their own gain. Other groups have risen to combat and stop the spread of these groups, most notably the BSAA has been working to stop the threat of Bioterrorism for 20 years.

Several reports are written every day of valiant agents, powerful criminals, and neutral parties that actively sway the pendulum of the war on bioterrorism. Who will you be in this world of uncertainty? Will you profit from the chaos of bioterrorism or will you stand against it?
