Orseus, an ancient dragon carrying the reputation of a goddess, passed. Her death sent shockwaves across the continents; physically and spiritually. From her rotting body, a red aurora was cast upon the sky, sending a cascade of corrupt energy down Astervale. As a result, the draconic race almost went extinct. In their place, rose the humanoids, set with conviction.
This aurora, known as the “Shroud,” created a new legion of species. This array of monsters tormented the remaining population of Astervale, terror following generation after generation. Soon, this horror twisted into normalcy. Learning to adapt, the humanoid races developed ways to combat the creatures of the Shroud, achieving as close as one can get to a comfortable life.
However, not all of these monsters were pure evil, some were simply born out of confusion, seeking a place in this new world. From there, a political argument began. What place could those of the Shroud have in the four continents? Did they deserve to live a life co-existing among settlements? Or would it save the energy to let them rot under the blade of a sword?

Astervale is a fantasy world that takes cultural inspiration from the Victorian Era and mechanical advancements from the 1920’s Industrial Era! Over three thousand years ago, humans went to war with elves. That war sparked a global conflict involving all races, a full-scale World War, the largest and longest war ever recorded, lasting three thousand years.
It has been just 150 years since the war ended. The world's technology has advanced so much that a person can now lose an arm and regrow it without the aid of magic. Laws have been enacted against casting. Citizens don't protest, kill, or commit crimes. The human population is slowly shrinking as they interbreed with elves and other races, such as the Viri people. As pure-blood humans become rarer, they are valued more highly. Crime is virtually extinct; only 3% of all citizens commit major crimes. Petty crimes are down to 5%, and education is skyrocketing. The era of the future is now.
But some things cannot be forgotten.
Since the beginning of the world's formation, the cosmic forces have been at war, fighting, stealing, creating, and reshaping one another. This long Over-God War dictated the formation of everything the world possesses today. Entire laws of reality emerged from conflict beyond mortal understanding. The gods did not simply rule existence—they competed over it, fractured it, and inherited pieces of one another until the world itself became the result of accumulated theft and creation. Yet despite their influence, these entities have become mostly forgotten. Their names disappeared from history, their worship faded, and many who still acknowledge them are considered heretical.

Formerly Pokémon Showdown’s Roleplaying room, Pokémon & Realms is a community brought together by a love for various roleplays. While Pokémon freeform RP is the bedrock of the server, our community’s freedom to invent its own RPs has broadened its creative horizons.
Over the 7+ years our community has existed, this variety allowed us to accomodate for many different kinds of users. Those who thrive in the unbound Pokémon freeform, those who enjoy the innovative player-made RPs, those who are there just for the community. Whichever of these users you might be, we will receive you with open arms.
What we offer:
• Loose-rules Pokémon RP. Play a solo Pokémon, a Trainer, an Evil Team Admin, a Gijinka, whatever you wish. Just don’t play Fakémon or canon-involved characters.
• No approvals, except for legends and the likes. Play new ideas right away.
• No such thing as a central plot you must follow. Take in the world at your own pace.
• Any user can make their own events to shake up the scene.
• A custom region, Tutalo, that you can reshape with said user-made events.
• A Pokémon League for Tutalo, with applications for Gym Leader OCs.
• Complete freedom for RP hosts. Users get to make a whole RP from the ground up, with any mechanics or characters they want.
• Existing RP genres, born from the times of the Pokémon Showdown Roleplaying Room, with templates you can follow.
• Pings for each of these genres, to help you and your players connect.
• The possibility to make something entirely new instead.
• Custom ping roles for popular hosted RPs.

Humanity came out of the dark and inhabited the lands of Palrit for centuries, creating great civilizations across the world, their innovation and might beyond anything the world had seen before or since, however their peoples were eternally wicked. Slavery, lechery and all the wickedness of the world inhabited the hearts of man. For this, it was deemed just to cleanse the world. For over a hundred years, it rained across Palrit, flooding fields and burying cities under tremendous waves. Those that survived were separated for centuries, inhabiting the interiors of the world. In these days, the sons of men changed and were shaped by the rains. Their tongues changed, their skins assorted and their nations were forever dispersed. Centuries have passed since those days, now the earth attempts to recover in new lands on a new earth.

Sanguine Fantasy Realism is a roleplay based server on the MMO game Path of Titans. This server follows the standard realism server format, with players being given profiles for playable characters with animal inspired behaviors they can follow.
Sanguine, however, prioritizes player interaction across a multitude of species, making the solo playstyle for those without friend groups online much more enjoyable. Additionally, Sanguine is built with beginners to roleplaying realism in mind, with a grace period for learning each profile built into the server itself.
Finally, Sanguine hosts unique lore revolving around why dinosaurs, fantasy creatures, and modern mammals all congregate on Riparia, which is the map the server takes place in. If you are a fan of Path of Titans roleplay, you will certainly find a home here.. even if you aren't familiar with full realism!
