After the great flood, when the waters dried and people lived again, peace returned to the Earth. Crops grew strong, animals thrived, and Gilgamesh, mighty king of Uruk, found friendship in Enkidu. The people were happy, and even the gods watched with joy.
But peace can stir darker things.
Deep below, in the land of shadow, Hanbi—the god of evil and lies—grew angry. The world no longer feared him. His name was forgotten, his signs buried. Furious, Hanbi called forth his dark children: spirits of sickness, sorrow, and madness. Lamashtu, Pazuzu, Rabisu—they came not with swords, but with whispers. They poisoned dreams and twisted hearts. Families broke. The Earth groaned.
Temples stood quiet. Sacred towers shook.
The gods gathered under Anu, their king. Enlil raged, Ishtar cried, and Enki spoke in riddles. They saw the world out of balance, touched by Hanbi’s corruption.
So the gods made ready for war.
But one question echoed among them all:
How can Hanbi be defeated, when his chaos flows like water, and his lies wear down even stone?
