It's quite simple, really. Right at death's door, a portal opened beneath them and sucked them in, closing immediately after. Take this as a second chance, or another attempt at tormenting them. They find themselves in a very strange world, alien-like, with new plant life and animal life. Most of the animals within the warm region they seemed to 'spawn' in are fur-less, only skin. How strange, they aren't used to that, probably.

As they look down, a vibration sounds from something in their pocket. A communicator, a simple phone-like device, crafted specifically to fit them. It represents them and their personality, almost like someone made it custom for them and them alone. On it, a screen flashes. A message saying:

WE HAVE A NEWCOMER, PLEASE WELCOME: [CHARACTER NAME].
