The Cheeky Brew is a small art and writing community where all kinds of creative people can come and join! Even if you’d rather just find a chill space to hangout, we have channels dedicated just for relaxed and fun conversation.

We're an 18+, primarily writing server here to help develop your novels and short stories.Or, just be a space for you to talk writing shop. We won’t say no to other forms of creativity, though! We can always use more subjects… *Cough.* I mean, guests.

We’ve been around for a bit in one form or another. These days, we try to thread the needle between laid back and relaxed, able to have a little fun here, then swap gears and talk story development there. We also try to avoid a lot of the ideological stuff that swamps so many other creative spaces. We’re writers and creators first and foremost, and just want people to write, talk writing, or make stuff. And have fun. We do our best to balance this, as well as enable free expression, with channels for certain topics, craft channels, and some fun ones, too. All while keeping the channel count relatively restrained. Our one big thing is respecting each other.

What we provide:
A calm, relaxed space, not constantly blowing up or leaving you behind if you happen to look away for 5 minutes
A fair few peeps who’ve been around the writing and creative spaces on discord for many years, and many of us with each other
A feedback system, in which you will have to GIVE 1 GOOD FEEDBACK in order to be able to participate

Bookdun is a community of creative writers who want to write a novel and actually finish it. The core of our community is the 6-month writing challenge, where we don't just talk about writing: we do it.

THE MAIN PILLARS OF BOOKDUN

➤ The Challenge. At the start of January and July, we challenge ourselves to write a novel in six months. For some, that means finishing a first draft. For others, it means getting a novel out to beta readers, or even published. Whether you want to write one novel or many, the 6-month challenge is here to push you toward your goals.

Challenge participants are divided into teams, and earn team points by writing and participating in weekly events.

➤ Community. We're a friendly and respectful bunch, dedicated to helping each other along our individual writing journeys. Whether you're a long time writer with numerous published novels, or you just opened your first blank document, we're here to help. Join us for craft chats, encouragement, celebrations, and everything in between.

➤ Events & Activities. We like our events, and offer monthly, weekly, and daily activities. From the 6-month challenge, to weekly bingo boards, book clubs, craft chats, goal setting, daily discussion questions and active sprint channels, we have something for everyone.

Twice a year, we also host a server-wide critique event to assist members in setting up smaller, private critique and beta groups.

You can join anytime! The challenge is entirely optional, and can be entered at any time, too. You don't need to participate in every round, and the vast majority of server activities are open to non-challenge participants as well.
