Minął tydzień od tragicznego wybuchu w sierocińcu w centrum miasta. 40 dzieci i 2 dorosłych nie żyje. Sprawca pozostaje nieznany.
Media oskarżają Jokera. Komisarz Gordon ma jednak inne zdanie - Książę Zbrodni zwykle podpisuje swoje dzieła.
Mosty Gotham pozostają podniesione. Najbogatsi mieszkańcy uciekają. Na ulicach szerzy się panika.
Prezydent Lex Luthor twierdzi, że kraj padł ofiarą aktu terrorystycznego.
Ale prawda może być znacznie gorsza.
Czy za tragedią stoi kolejny superzłoczyńca? Wojna gangów? Organizacja działająca z cienia? A może zagrożenie, którego nikt jeszcze nie dostrzega?

Four years ago Superman perished with the arrival of Doomsday, along with Coast City. In the wake of the tragedy, Lex Luthor ran for President with a promise to keep metahumans under control so this could never happen again.

Since then he’s been working to get superheroes and villains alike under his thumb as he reshapes the country in his image. Many metahumans have registered under his Justice Society of America initiative, while the last holdouts of resistance are ever dwindling.

As he gears up for re-election…Superman finally wakes from his coma.

Pierwszy rozdział fabuły. Prolog

Liga Sprawiedliwości obchodzi dziesięciolecie istnienia. Mimo ciągłych ataków złoczyńców, Ziemia nie była w poważnych tarapatach od lat. Wszystko dzięki planom Batmana i skuteczności Supermana. Od wielu miesięcy rywale Ligi byli cicho. Nikt z nich nie realizował swoich planów. Tak by się przynajmniej mogło wydawać. Jedyne co mogło niepokoić bohaterów, to rosnąca magiczna aktywność na całym świecie. Jednak Liga była już na to przygotowana. Ataki potworów i istot o nieznanym pochodzeniu udawało się odpierać. Nikt jednak sam nie mógł odkryć skąd takowe pochodzą i czemu atakują. Batman podejrzewa, że ma to tylko formę zwiadu.

Tymczasem drużyna Młodych Tytanów rozrasta się o kolejnych nastoletnich członków. Nightwing dowodzi i odpowiada za ich trening, a jednocześnie rozprawia się z przestępcami w Blüdhaven. Tytani i Liga współpracowali przy kilku starciach, ale na co dzień pozostają samodzielni.

Back in 1989 a Meteorite shower hit a small town called Smallville from it emerged a young boy who was taken in by the Kent family to later be named as Clark Kent, quite a bit of years have passed to where the current time is 2001.

But with the meteorites the foreign pieces of the planet have arrived called Kryptonite, These pieces have started giving people strange powers. With this Clark having his own powers has made it his mission to keep his secret. Attempt to live a normal life and stop people who do gain these powers from abusing it.
