A world where canon characters does not exist, focusing primarily on original characters only. ⭑⭒ yuuei boarding school has been japan's premier educational facility for young arcanists, or 'witches and wizards' to the wider world, to hone their talents and pursue related careers. arcanists make up an approximate fifth of the population living alongside the majority who remain unaware that magic exists at all. the campus lies nestled in the northern mountains, far from mundane eyes, its wards ensuring it stays that way.

⭑⭒ decades ago, the country was shaken by what the mundane world remembers as the deika city catastrophe: an unexplained disaster that levelled a district overnight, its cause officially determined to be a sinkhole. only arcanists know the truth of the disaster being the work of the dark arcanist shigaraki zen, who sought to dominate humans and arcanists alike by stealing others' magic and stockpiling it for himself. shigaraki's reign ended in a confrontation with toshinori yagi, leaving both arcanists severely injured and zen forced into hiding.

One century ago the ‘Golden Age’ of heroes rose and fell. Famous heroes and their offspring faded into the background, and with them came a complacency and drastic decrease of heroes. Determined, young men and women gathered together with the bright goal of a new age! But as the youth flooded in, so did villains much more vicious and unified than before. Death rates began to increase and population dived. Parents and guardians, families and friends, they all took to their local lawmakers and protested for several years— demanding something be done.
